Hi!! My name is Danielle, most people know me as Dani or Dee. I am currently a Psychiatric Nursing student with a love for music, movement, and all things around mental health. I became a certified yoga and fitness instructor in the fall of 2013. My favorite style to teach and practice is Vinyasa as the style relates to a dance with feel-good flow and utilizing our breath.

Who am I really? In a world where we can feel alone, I hope to spark some degree of connection and relatability. Whether that be through each other and the stories we share or simply within ourselves. My intention is to instill a glimmer of hope within the waves of hopelessness, and to celebrate the little victories when the big picture seems like too much.

What’s the chorus of your all time favourite song?

IIIIIII WANNA DANCE WITH SOMEBODY! I WANNA FEEL THE *HEAT* WITH SOMEBODAYYYY! Oooh I WANNA DANCE WITH SOMEBODY, WITH SOMEBODY WHO LOVE ME!!

What is something you strongly dislike that most people love?

Bananas. The sound of someone peeling one is like nails on a chalk board to me! Haha and the smell!! Not my favorite hahah

What is a place you think everyone should visit?

Nashville TN! (Post-pandemic of course) I’m a HUGE live music lover, so being surrounded by so much musical talent in one city is amazing. And you don’t have to be a country fan to appreciate that city, they have it all. You can walk into any “hole in the wall” dive bar and be blown away!! One of my all time favorite places!

What lesson took you the longest to unlearn?

**trigger warning: body dysmorphia and history with eating disorder**

My love and appreciation for my body. For as long as I can remember I’ve had a not-so-great relationship with body image and self esteem. I spent many years equating my worth with how I looked, and believed thinness was the only way I could be valued. I understand now that is not the case at all (thank you therapy!). To this day I still have my moments of retreating back into old habits of thinking/critiquing myself but I also have the tools to unpack that. I’ve come a long way from my lowest point. So id say that is my longest lesson I am still continually learning.
